Consoling the Heart of Jesus

Join St. Bernard Parish for a Lenten 8-week retreat like no other.

If you seek:

  • A deeper relationship with Jesus

  • The tools you’ll need to “become a saint, a great saint, and quickly.”

  • To further develop your prayer life

  • To come meet Jesus at the Cross and learn how you can bring Him consolation

Jesus says in the Gospel of John: “I thirst.”

We soon enter the season of Lent. For many of us that calls to mind fasting, and we begin to ponder, “What should I give up this year?”  We honor Lent because Jesus entered time and space, and in our Human and Spiritual history, hung upon the cross.

After entrusting His mother to His church, and His church to His mother, He gave one last request before he died: “I thirst.” Two words that have carried across millennia meant to pierce the heart of every Christian who hears them: “I thirst.”

Jesus thirsts for us to return His love and mercy. Jesus thirsts for you and He thirsts for me in a world that by and far denies and rejects and crucifies Him time and again.

We are called to minister to Jesus. Let us walk together in faith St. Bernard. Let us walk together this Lent in mercy.

Let us together learn the simple ways that we can Console the Heart of Jesus. Join us for either eight consecutive evenings during Lent or a weekend retreat the weekend after Easter - which happens to be Divine Mercy weekend.

If you’ve already done the retreat, we urge you to join us again and dive even deeper into your walk of faith. One fair warning: this is a deeper dive. It will require time, prayer, and reading, but it is realizable for anyone who makes the commitment. This Lent you could give up chocolate, Netflix, or gaming - or you could make a time commitment and in doing so find an incredible friend in Jesus and a simple more direct way to Holiness all while unleashing Divine Mercy upon the world. Sound incredible and unbelievable? We thought so too, and then we dove in. Let’s walk in faith together this Lent St. Bernard. Let each of us be the answer to Jesus’ final request, “I thirst.”
