Baptism Preparation Ministry

“Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit , and the door which gives access to the other sacraments.” - Catechism of the Catholic Church, paragraph 1213

Exciting news!! St. Bernard Parish is adopting a great new Baptism Preparation resource from Ascension Press featuring Fr. Mike Schmitz. We are in need of couples to facilitate discussions with the parents who are preparing to have their child baptized. Couples explore topics online to earn a certificate of completion and then come to St. Bernard for an in person session facilitated by St. Bernard Baptism Prep Ministers. Once you are trained your commitment as a Baptism Prep Minister would involve facilitating about two sessions a year.

Ideal candidates for this ministry are F.A.C.T. (Faithful, Available, Contagious and Trainable).
