How do you make people feel? How do people leave you? This is something that we don’t really think about when we talk to people or go through life. But it’s something that we need to be aware of, because it’s a reflection of who we are and how we treat others.
“Let no one ever come to you without feeling better or happier.” – St. Mother Theresa
For instance, take gossip. It’s a vice that’s hard to overcome, and it’s wrong on many levels. Most commonly, it’s known to be wrong because it hurts the reputation of another. But what about the other repercussions it has? If your friend calls you, and you start gossiping about someone, is that going to leave them feeling good? Probably not.
What about complaining? Now, it’s one thing to talk to people about how you’re doing, that’s one thing, and it’s healthy and good. But if every time you call your mom you’re complaining about this or that, is that going to make her hang up the phone and be happy or feel good?
These are the things we need to be conscious of, and we need to make sure that we are living our lives in the way that God is calling us.
“Be the living expression of God’s kindness: kindness in your face, kindness in your eyes, kindness in your smile.”
How can you make someone better and happier?
